The Application Form (IAF (TA)-9 (Revised) Part – 1 & 2) is available for download at no cost from www.jointerritorialarmy.gov.in starting from November 20, 2023.

Syllabus for TA Written And Practical Exam
Standard and Syllabus
(a) Written Test.
The syllabus will consist of Network Security, Operating System Security, Cryptography
and Encryption Techniques, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Incident Response and Handling, Penetration
Testing, Secure Coding Practices, Cyber Laws and Regulations, Log Analysis and Forensics, Network
Forensics, Audits and Compliance, Vulnerability Assessment, Wireless Penetration Testing, Wireless
Network security, Cloud Security, Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Security, Social Engineering Attacks
and Countermeasures, Mobile Application Security, Threat Modelling and Risk Assessment, Malware
Analysis and Detection, Social Media Security, Web Application Security, Data Loss Prevention (DLP),
Threat Hunting and Analysis and Cloud Infrastructure Security.
(b) Practical Test
- It will be conducted in the form of CTF (Catch the Flag) event with a focus on Solving Challenges in the domains of Threat Intelligence (OSINT), Cryptography, Web Application Security, Forensics, Reverse Engineering, Malware Analysis, Threat Intelligence Network Incident Response, etc.
- A candidate will participate in CTF using his/her personal laptop so each candidate has to carry his or her personal laptop for Practical Tests.
- Candidate will be tested for his/ Tech skills, Problem-solving abilities, Time Management, etc.
- Internet connectivity will be provided to all candidates by conducting team
TA Army Training
- Six months of Pre-Commission Training as provided in TA Rule 20A amended vide SRO 65 dt 29 Apr 2023. (Candidates shall be commissioned in TA only on successful completion of the said Pre-Commission Training).
- Two months annual training camp every year if not continuously embodied for six months in a training year (01 April -31 March).
